An Interview with Sabrina Famellos - owner and founder of Anzula Yarns

By Tom Helgesen, Sedona Knit Wits

Sabrina Famellos takes luxury very seriously. She goes the extra mile in finding luxury fibers that are a cut above the rest. When she looks for merino wool, for example, she gets the smallest micron fiber size she can for the blend she’s planning. This means it is super soft . When she uses nylon in a blend, she gets a very fine grade known as “faux cashmere” because of its quality. She combines it with a tight twist that wears longer and is pill resistant.

Sabrina began dyeing yarn as a hobby. Then the hobby started to grow—and grow. She now has 11 employees, with a 6,000 square foot warehouse in California. She believes in keeping jobs at home, and has brought her employees along with the company’s growth. Anzula helped several of them get off public assistance through promotions and raises.

Sedona Knit Wits customers LOVE Anzula Yarns and comment often about its luxuriousness and softness.
